With over 300 members, its small committee of volunteers and supporting band of workers are active all year around organising, planning and working very hard on behalf of the club and its community of Derynia.
The club has a very rich history which dates back to 1920 when the teaching of reading books and newspapers started a quest to learn and education began through social groups in the village reading one newspaper and telegrams about news from the wars around 1920 between Turkey & Greece. This later developed into social groups and education and soon a firm foundation was begun for a cohesive village community in learning and sporting activities.
